Designed and taught The Human Camera, an interactive, collaborative all-ages workshop about how to use different framing devices to improve visual storytelling.

Cornell College

Distinguished Visiting Writer: Art, Comics, and Transformative Journalism
Mount Vernon, Iowa; Block 3: Oct – Nov. 2015

Designed and taught ENG 381, a multidisciplinary workshop-style course that taught students how to produce an original work of comics journalism by integrating concepts and techniques from comics, journalism, and writing.

Final project: students produced an 8 – 10 page comics script and thumbnail sketches for an original comics journalism story. Scripts integrated primary, secondary and personal interview sources, and all sources were documented in endnotes.

Teaching Intern, SEQA 419: Children's Picture Books, Savannah, GA, winter quarter 2012.

Developed and delivered a materials demo and a presentation on the children's book industry. Provided feedback on student work and assisted students in book assembly.

Coaches second and third grade students through the Reading Buddies program by reading with them one-on-one twice a week, setting goals with students each session and tracking their progress, individual reading challenges, and reading preferences.
